SF has wonderful beaches, and if you have lived in the bay area for as long as I have you will definitely have a favorite beach. Mine is Crissy field and Baker beach although Crissy field is usually my chill spot.
With the weather, one can never be too sure if a sunny day will be a good beach day, Karl ( also known as the fog ) tends to roll into the bay pretty early some days so a sunshine-filled afternoon outing at the beach is not always in the books. But, today it was!
My friend was visiting from Europe so we thought what better place to go than the beach, soak up some sun and get some windy sand in our hair, yep… that’s the truth! But what I love about SF is that everything is pretty much within walking distance, take the streetcar to Fisherman’s Wharf and then walk the stroll to fort mason, maybe grab a bite to eat at a great takeout spot on Chesnut street and then head to the beach.
Crissy field is a great spot for picnics, for families and friends and even for photo shoots. It is an iconic place because you can get that much-wanted pictures of the golden gate in the background while strolling through the sand. If you are traveling to SF anytime soon be sure to check this spot out, as I am sure you will love it just as much and I do!
