Autumn Spiced Chocolate Chai!

Well good morning folks! yet another autumn day is upon us, although isn’t yet cold here in California. I thought about recipes and what would be useful to people wanting to keep it simple in the mornings and also a bit more festive… So here is what we got! Chocolate Spiced Chai.

I was mixing and playing with some new Chai tea that I have at home while also thinking about the vibrant smells of cocoa and cinnamon. The thought then came to mix them up and see what it would create… and I was pleasantly surprised with the finished cup of warm Chocolate Chai tea with hints of Cinnamon.

Here’s the recipe:
• 1 cup ( or small mug ) full of freshly brewed Chai tea ( either cold or hot works)
• 1/4 of a cup of milk or Half and Half.
• 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon of Cocoa powder ( this can vary depending on how much chocolate flavor you want. )
• Optional, 1 teaspoon of sugar or stevia.

So, I begin with mixing in all the pieces to the tea base, you can then add the milk or Half and Half. Next, I pour the mixture into a small pot and bring it to a very low simmer, just so the cocoa can melt into the milk and tea. Here is where you can choose if you would like to make this a hot or cold drink.

Next, I carefully pour it into the mug and add some decorations or cinnamon sticks just to make it more festive and autumnal!
